Call for Contributions

Topics of Discussion

In order to structure the discussion on a theme as broad as digital technology innovation and peace operations, we have identified eight overarching topics or thematic clusters:

  1. Exploring the impact of digital technology on conflict dynamics and peace operations
  2. Supporting the implementation of mandated tasks through digital technologies
  3. Enhancing situational awareness and mission protection through digital technologies
  4. Using digital technologies in strategic communications and outreach
  5. Applying digital technologies to help run a mission and be accountable
  6. Ensuring adequate data handling, protection, usage, sharing and storage in peace operations
  7. Managing cyber security in peace operations
  8. Partnering for digital technology innovation

 

We invite contributions on any of these topics – as well as on other issues that are relevant to the blog’s theme.

Format of the Contribution

Contributions to the blog can be written pieces of roughly 1,000-1,500 words, spoken contributions of around three minutes or visualizations (audio/video files). Blog contributions should be in English.

Contributions should feature a clear question or argument, explore why and how this is relevant to peace operations and offer a concrete recommendation.

Contributions will be published on the TECHPOPS blog at least through 2023.
